With almost two decades of professional experience, I know that the best work rarely emerges from rigid processes. I produce bespoke design solutions that draw from my diverse background in graphic design, visual arts, art history, and scholarship. My approach begins with understanding your context—your audience, your goals, and the story you’re trying to tell. From there, I develop visual language and systems that not only meet your needs, but expand how your work can be seen and understood.
My training includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg majoring in Art History, a Diploma in Graphic Design from Holland College (PEI), a Master’s Degree in Theology from Regent College (Vancouver), and further studies in fine art at Emily Carr University of Art & Design and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

"When I’m working on a project in need of creative direction, I almost always reach out to Steph first. What makes her a perfect partner is her ability to offer a uniquely beautiful artistic vision, while also understanding and meeting the requirements of the assignment. Her contribution invariably helps me and my clients see our work with new clarity and excitement. If you’re wanting a thoughtful design collaborator who can both execute and inspire, Steph should be your first call too."

“Steph Martens was the first designer who created something our diverse team all loved! From the new logo, to re-vamped information package and new signage – we look like a new and improved company. We are continuously working with Steph to tackle more design projects and we are all so happy with the quality of her work. We highly recommend Steph!”

“It was a joy to work with Steph on a project which she conceived, designed, and executed brilliantly. I am beyond thrilled with the result, and was so pleased with Steph’s work that I quickly engaged her work on another project. Steph is inspired, skilled, professional, and a delightful person to work with on any project.”

“I have worked with Steph on two occasions to rebrand our business. On the first occasion she was able to create the perfect balance between the old owner's logo and our vision, and more recently she was able to take my scattered ideas of how to bring the store into a more modern aesthetic while still keeping its 45 year-old core. She is prompt and a pleasure to work with."
